Maatology Productions will present The Paintings of Lov-ve during the 2025 Hollywood Fringe Festival at the Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre. Directed and co-written by Emmy Award-nominated Maat Atkins, this modernized Shakespearean tragedy follows William “Willie” Kenwood, a gifted street painter who becomes entangled with a self-absorbed art tycoon and navigates complex relationships with his muse, Robyn Masters, and his college professor wife, Shareen McKinney. The narrative unfolds through flashbacks and is inspired by the life of renowned artist Jean Basquiat, exploring themes of ambition, love, and personal struggle. This marks the first in-person staging of the play, which has undergone significant evolution since its initial concept in 2003.
