Jonathan Larson’s pop/rock musical about the courage it takes to follow one’s dreams. Funny and moving, this autobiographical work about an aspiring composer trying to write the great American musical before time and life pass him by offers a revealing look at the man who would go on to posthumously receive three Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his revolutionary rock musical, Rent. International City Theatre at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, 330 E. Seaside Way, Long Beach, CA 90802; (562) 436-4610; InternationalCityTheatre.org.
LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS has announced a very special event: the world premiere staged reading of a new musical MISS FOXHOLE 1975 -- book by the Tony Award-winning writer of Memphis, Joe DiPietro, music and lyrics by Ryan O'Connell & Val Vigoda, and directed by Kari Hayter.
First look photos! Before there was Rent, there was tick, tick… BOOM!. International City Theatre opens its 2023 “Embracing the Future” season with a pop/rock musical by Jonathan Larson about the courage it takes to follow one’s dreams.
