I was thirty-three when I understood that I was non-binary and thirty-five when I finally acknowledged that I wanted top surgery. Confronting this desire meant acknowledging a truth that I had shielded for so long; that deep down I did not feel deserving of my own happiness. Recognizing this was an ugly moment to sit with. I wanted to hide behind the anxiety of what other people (you, my parents, my partners) would think. Would they love me less? Would I love me less? What if they arent attracted to me anymore? Growth is uncomfortable, and there is nothing more uncomfortable than really exploring dark corners of the fact that sometimes it is our own habits, thoughts, and feelings that are keeping us from experiencing the joy we so desperately seek. And the joy I seek? POSTING FLAT-CHESTED THIRSTS ON THE MAIN!!!! Kidding. The joy I seek is to finally be at home in my own body, or as my mother so gently & simply put it; 'Have my inside finally match my outside.'Non-Binary/Queer Comedian, Ever Mainard, whom Variety Magazine describes as a Wildcard..
