The Joffrey Ballet presents the West Coast Premiere of The Sleeping Beauty, spectacularly reimagined by two-time Tony Award winner Christopher Wheeldon, OBE, and performed with a live orchestra to Tchaikovsky's score. The classic fairy tale follows Princess Aurora, whose christening is cursed by the wicked Carabosse, dooming her to fall into a deep sleep on her sixteenth birthday, with only true love's kiss able to restore harmony to the kingdom. Wheeldon's dazzling choreography unfolds amid Jérôme Kaplan's sumptuous costumes and scenery, bringing this timeless masterpiece of romance, beauty and adventure vividly to life.
