Not the Right Mom at Avenel Performing Arts Center

Not the Right Mom is a one-person show written and performed by Megan Dolan, currently on a nationwide tour. The show explores the humor and heartache of parenting a child with autism, following Dolan as she stumbles through shattered expectations, questions her identity as a mother, and ultimately finds a fierce kind of joy in letting go. Through personal storytelling, Dolan examines the guilt, shame, and confusion that come with feeling like the odd one out, while redefining motherhood on her own terms. The show has previously appeared at the Long Beach Playhouse, Whitefire Theatre, and the Curtis Theatre.
