City of Dance is the U.S. adaptation of La Ville DansEe, a landmark Paris Dance Project initiative imagined by Benjamin Millepied, bringing free site-specific dance performances to iconic locations across Los Angeles from June 2-7 and June 17-21, 2026. The centerpiece is a newly commissioned work set to Philip Glass's score for the film Koyaanisqatsi, choreographed by Dimitri Chamblas, Madeline Hollander, Jamar Roberts, Pam Tanowitz, and Benjamin Millepied. Performances take place at venues including Century Park, Marciano Art Foundation, Hollyhock House at Barnsdall Art Park, Tongva Park, Hollywood Forever, Gloria Molina Grand Park, and LACMA. Following select performances, conversations with artists, scholars, and experts curated by author and political scientist Françoise Vergès will take place.
