A story of love, confusion, magic and wonder, Shakespeare's evergreen play has been presented across the ages in many styles and in many mediums. This production is ideal for the whole family, "Possibly the perfect Shakespeare play. Written for a wedding and celebrating love, harmony and the power of magic. With Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water currently impressing worldwide moviegoers, it is fascinating to see the power of the fable from Shakespeare's time to our own. The play has its dark elements and is full of strange magic… just imagine if the spirits of Elizabethan otherworldings could enter our world through a portal on Midsummer Night… and for a time, two dimensions co-exist beside the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica. That's our notion!"

July 08, 2023Samadahi Entertainment is set to present VENUS IN FUR, by David Ives, directed by Mark Blanchard. The dark comedy with exceedingly complex characters and a fast-paced play within a play, featuring Russian-born multi-award-winning actress KATYUSHA (Ekaterina Melnik) as Vanda, is set to open August 4th through September 3rd, 2023, at McCadden Place Theatre.

BWW Review: LOVE IN BLOOM Spoofs the Bard to Prove All's Well That Ends As You Like It
January 29, 2020As is true with almost every one of The Bard's plays, magic and mayhem, fops and fairies, mistaken identity, romance and humor abound in this tongue-firmly-in-cheek evening with elements of pantomime, Commedia dell'arte and conventions of classical theater woven together with DeCarlo and Rudie narrating the tale as the elvish mischief makers Orion and Talia. While there are quotes and references from several of The Bard's creations, LOVE IN BLOOM takes its biggest story line from a?oeA Midsummer Night's Dreama?? with three sets of lovers dealing with mistaken identities due to cross-dressing, who eventually get lost in the woods in order for the fairies' spell to be cast so that all ends well and love rules the day.
