Photos: EXIT THE KING Opens at A Noise Within

Production photos have been released for EXIT THE KING by Eugène Ionesco, now in previews at A Noise Within. The production, translated by Donald Watson and directed by Michael Michetti, will officially open this weekend.
The play follows King Berenger, portrayed by Henri Lubatti, a ruler accustomed to absolute power who resists the reality of his own mortality. As his kingdom begins to collapse, he is surrounded by an eccentric court, including his first wife, played by Joy DeMichelle, his second wife, played by Erika Soto, and attendants portrayed by Lynn Robert Berg, Ralph Cole Jr., and KT Vogt.
Combining elements of absurdism and dark comedy, EXIT THE KING examines themes of denial, authority, and the inevitability of death. The production presents Ionesco’s work as both a satirical and reflective exploration of mortality, framed through the unraveling of a monarch who refuses to accept his fate.
