Dance Visions NY is delighted to present a new and unique program on the grounds of the Universalist Unitarian Congregation Shelter Rock (UUCSR) in collaboration with the organization. Grounded in contemporary movements for social justice and a livable, peaceful world, the program includes several new works and revisions of company favorites with a group of excellent, diverse artists. New works will include collaborations with Farah Chandu and Willow Interfaith Women's Choir.
Reperory includes includes a new work addressing bodily autonomy entitled “Dialogue," Isadora Duncan’s groundbreaking, dynamic work of strength and optimism created to the 3rd movement of Tchaikovsky’s Pathetique Sonata #6 ( circa 1916), “From a Distant Past Part 1," a new manifestation of the 1st section of our poem-based dance theater piece centered on the natural world, and a revision of a segment from our pivotal work “Through the Portals" with themes of establishing identity and finding unity through diversity. In addition will be new dances created to songs in collaboration with Willow Interfaith Women’s Choir which address respect for the earth and peace. The program includes original, timely and meaningful dance, music, poetry and theatre. It expresses the climate of our times and is performed by excellent, diverse artists in a beautiful, historical outdoor setting.
