Ray Bradbury’s searing masterpiece Fahrenheit 451 blazes to life on the Bay Street Theater stage in a gripping new production directed by Stephen Hamilton. In a future where firemen start fires instead of extinguishing them, one man begins to question everything he’s been taught. Torn between duty and conscience, his awakening sparks a dangerous rebellion that feels as urgent today as when the story was first written.
This haunting and timely adaptation explores what happens to a society that silences ideas. Written in 1953, Bradbury’s cautionary tale continues to resonate powerfully in an era of censorship, disinformation, and shifting truths.
Fahrenheit 451 promises an unforgettable night of thought-provoking theater—an experience that challenges us to consider how far we’ll go to protect the power of words.

John Kroft is delighted to be back at the Bay Street Theater and participating once again in Literature Live. John has performed in many local productions such as: “The Great Gatsby” (Bay Street), “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged” (Herrick Park), Multiple summers of Shakespeare at Sylvester Manor, and last spring he even made his directorial debut with “God of Carnage” (LTV). He has appeared in NYC in “Dan Cody’s Yacht” (MTC) and “The Weak and the Strong” (La Mama) and Regionally he has appeared in “Love All” (La Jolla Playhouse, “The Tempest” (The Guthrie), “Dutch Masters” (Northern Stage), “Lifespan of a Fact” (Pioneer Theater Company), “ and “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” (Williamstown Theater festival). He’s appeared in TV shows such as: “Blue Bloods” (CBS), and “Red Oaks,” (Amazon); and in films such as: “Maestro” (NETFLIX) and “Master” (AMAZON). Bonnie Comley is an award-winning actress and producer whose career spans stage, screen, and digital media. She has appeared in nine Off-Broadway productions, earning recognition for her versatility, comedic timing, and strong stage presence. Comley began her career in television as an on-camera host and reporter before moving into theatre, where her performances garnered attention from both audiences and critics. In addition to her stage work, Comley is a three-time Tony Award–winning producer and co-founder of BroadwayHD, the groundbreaking streaming platform that brings live theatre to audiences worldwide. Her combined experience as performer and producer gives her a rare perspective on both the creative and business sides of entertainment. An alumna of Emerson College, Comley continues to support theatre education and accessibility through her philanthropic work, endowing scholarships and programs that foster the next generation of performing artists.
Matthew Conlon

Matthew Conlon's first appeared here in the acclaimed production of “Men’s Lives” by Joe Pintauro at Bay Street’s outset, and was hands-on during the theater’s construction. NYC work includes the premiere of “Freud’s Last Session “ with Fritz Weaver at HB Playwrights, and the Drama Desk-nominated “The Traveling Lady” at EST. Regional roles include Oedipus and Atticus. Locally, he was seen most recently in “Much Ado About Nothing” at Sylvester Manor, “Twelve Angry Men” at The Suffolk, and “The Crucible” here on the wharf. For the Hampton Theatre Company, Matthew has appeared in “Man of La Mancha”, Baskerville”, “The Foreigner” and “Private Lives”, among many others. Thanks again to Stephen and the BST family.
Nicole Marie Hunt

Nicole Marie Hunt is a Meisner-trained actor, coach, and activist based in New York. In 2018, she began acting again, full-time, after stepping away from her craft in 2008 to work in politics and activism with the Obama campaign/administration, SEIU and the NAACP. Nicole returned to acting in the role of Abigail in Katie Forgett’s Evidence of Things Unseen at the historic Detroit Repertory Theatre. Some recent theater credits include productions at WP Theatre, Meadowbrook Theatre, Theatre Nova, Gene Frankel, Plowshares Theatre, and The Tank. She is thrilled to be back at Bay Street after playing Eunice in last year’s A Streetcar Named Desire! Originally trained under Bill Esper at The William Esper Studio, Nicole received additional training at Folger Shakespeare Theater, T. Schreiber Studio, HB Studio, and The Juilliard School. Nicole is a proud member of the Actor's Equity Association. She is represented by Take 3 Talent.
Stewart F. Lane
The Family Theater Show Attorney, Ensemble
Stewart F. Lane is a versatile stage and screen performer with extensive experience in musical theatre, plays, and film. On stage, they have brought to life a wide range of roles, from the comedic Erronius in A Funny Thing Happened… at Bay Street Playhouse to the romantic Johnny Churchill in Girl Crazy at Monticello Tent Arena, and the charming Gaston in Gigi. He also toured in Send Me No Flowers with Van Johnson and Never Too Late with Ed Herlihy. Lane played Jean in Miss Julie at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and also appeared in classic and contemporary works at regional theatres such as Bucks County Playhouse, Forestburgh Playhouse, and Little Theatre on the Square. Lane’s screen credits include Puppet on a Chain, Cops & Robbers, The Delegate, and Bounty Hunter. A BFA Drama graduate of Boston University, he trained with esteemed instructors including Austin Pendleton, Michael Howard, David Wheeler, and Rose Shulman, developing a strong foundation in acting, movement, and voice.

Dan Pavacic is a New York–based actor and model. A proud MFA graduate of The Actors Studio Drama School, he has performed with Suite 524, a new theater company in NYC, as well as at The Actors Studio, Theater for the New City, The Long Island Shakespeare Festival, and The Gateway Playhouse. On screen, he can be seen as Billy in the thriller By The Window, which premiered at the HollyShorts Film Festival, and he has appeared in national campaigns for Fanatics, Hims, Walmart, and Eddie Bauer. He is also the creator of The Stoic Actor podcast. Dan would like to thank his teachers, his agents at Synergy Talent, his manager Chrissy and Bicoastal Management, the creative team at Bay Street Theater, and, of course, his family. Special thanks to his dad for all the rides to Bay Street’s local auditions. This is his first production with Bay Street Theater, and he is thrilled to make his debut with this esteemed company.
