The Northport Performing Arts Center's "On Broadway" benefit, sponsored by the Northport Chamber of Commerce, was a tremendous success, bringing in more than $15,000. The money raised will go towards the $175,000 needed to lease the Northport Movie Theater from the current owner. Hosted by award-winning actor David Garrison (best known as "Steve" from "Married with Children"), the evening featured dazzling Broadway costumes and performers and was held at Atria of East Northport.

The Northport Performing Arts Center (NPAC) was founded by dedicated theatrical professionals seeking to enrich the cultural and artistic enjoyment of Long Island theater audiences by bringing the Broadway experience closer to home. It is NPAC's mission to revitalize, preserve and reopen the magnificent Northport Theater at 250 Main Street; reconfigure the existing theater into a multi-purpose state-of-the-art live performance facility while maintaining its historic character; and create a thriving center for the arts in the heart of Northport Village.
