Desert Opus, a string ensemble, presents From Romance to Revolution, a chamber music concert tracing the artistic journey from the lush lyricism of Alexander Borodin to the emerging modern voice of Dmitri Shostakovich. The program features Shostakovich's Waltz No. 2 arranged for string quartet, Borodin's String Quartet No. 2, and Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 1. Performers include Arturo Hernández Gómez, James Anderson, Deborah Kim, and David Warner, with musicologist Heather Buffington Anderson providing commentary and historical insight throughout the concert.
