Kansas City Symphony Sets 2016-17 Season

The Kansas City Symphony has unveiled its 2016-17 season, including Classical, Pops and Family Series plus special and holiday concerts. The Symphony also revealed individual seats will replace bench seating in the Helzberg Hall Choral Loft at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts prior to the start of the 2016-17 season.

After a record number of voters in more than 70 regions worldwide, BroadwayWorld is very excited to announce the 2015 Kansas City Awards winners. Highlights include Alec Walberg who won 'Best Actor in a Musical' for his role in LEGALLY BLONDE at Stage Right Performing Arts, Vanessa Severo who takes 'Best Actress in a Play' for THE MIRACLE WORKER at The Coterie, and Wai Yim, winning 'Best Actor in a Play' for Unicorn Theatre's THE OLDEST BOY.  Thanks to all who voted, and huge congratulations to all the winners!

KC Rep Announces Mellon Grant Renewal for Playwright-in-Residence Nathan Louis Jackson

Kansas City Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Eric Rosen is pleased to announce that the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has renewed its support of KC Rep's three-year playwright residency program for Nathan Louis Jackson through the National Playwright Residency Program. The grant totals $232,000 and will enable KC Rep's Playwright in Residence Nathan Louis Jackson to continue his significant contributions to new works, a key component of KC Rep's mission.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Artistic Director Eric Rosen is pleased to announce the cast of The Diary of Anne Frank, directed by Marissa Wolf, KC Rep's Director of New Works. The play, based upon Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, was originally written for the stage by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. In 1997, Wendy Kesselman published a revised version of Goodrich and Hackett's Pulitzer Prize winning script, which integrated some of the more personal aspects of Anne Frank's story that remained untold in the original script.
