Barn Players to Stage THE GRADUATE, 5/27-6/12
The 1960's cult classic "The Graduate" is the next production at the Barn Players - opening Friday evening, May 27th and playing through Sunday matinee June 12th at the Barn Players Theatre, 6219 Martway in Mission; the play is rated "R".
"The Graduate" is the story of a recent college graduate who returns home and becomes involved with the sexy wife of his father's business partner and next door neighbor, Mrs. Robinson, but finds himself falling in love with her daughter. The play brings the inspired movie hit vividly to the stage, and is backed by the iconic music and songs of the 60's. The Barn Players production is directed by Bill Pelletier.
The movie was adapted for the stage and played on Broadway in 2000 winning a number of theatre awards. "The Graduate" with its characters, phrases and themes continues to ring true even today. The play is a touchstone for and incorporates the feeling of young people several decades ago -and includes a background of the times and a good bit of honesty and hilarity and is considered an artistic triumph.
Show dates are: Friday evenings May 27th, June 3rd and 10th at 7:30 p.m. --- Saturday evenings May 28th, June 4th and 11th at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday Matinees May 29th, June 5th and 12th at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets are $18.00 and are available on the theatre website www.the barnplayers.org or at the theatre box office the date of the performance - discounts for seniors and students - credit cards accepted.
