Four nights, four movements: Roots, Sanctuary, Sisterhood, and Fire. The 2026 Indy Black Solo Fest honors the legacies of Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Fred Hammond, Nina Simone, and much more. Reimagined through solo cabaret performances that weave together music, testimony, and ritual. Backed by a live band, background vocalists, and Afrocentric staging, this festival transforms the stage into a sanctuary for healing, history, and liberation. Each night is a unique journey, blending personal narrative with collective memory, culminating in a celebration of Black artistry that uplifts both artists and audiences. Presented by the Indianapolis Black Theatre Company, Solo Fest is a performance gathering where community, culture, and creativity converge to illuminate the power of Black voices.
