Open Dance Project presents Bonnie & Clyde, an immersive dance theater performance devised by the ODP ensemble under the choreographic direction of Annie Arnoult, running at Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston (MATCH). Set in the 1930s, the work explores the emotional experience of two young criminals from Texas during the Great Depression, peeling back their sensationalized story to reveal themes of love, desperation, and violence while drawing connections to today's world. Audience members move freely through a three-dimensional set designed by Ryan McGettigan, with projection design by Bryan Ealey and sound design by Edgar Guajardo, placing them in the center of Bonnie and Clyde's story. An original live score composed by Hunter Perrin and Garreth Broesche features new arrangements of period songs, and the production contains mature content including gun violence and references to sexual violence, recommended for ages 13 and up.
