The Wizard of Oz at Kennedy Theatre

Directed by MFA candidate Jack Romans, this Theatre for Young Audiences musical reimagines the classic story in a world where discarded objects become extraordinary, transforming everyday materials into the Yellow Brick Road, the Emerald City, and beloved characters. The production follows Dorothy, Toto, and the companions she meets, celebrating courage, compassion, wisdom, and home. It opens the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Department of Theatre & Dance 2026-2027 season themed Finding Home in the Extraordinary. A Saturday, October 24 performance features special throwback pricing, and the October 31 closing night includes a Halloween costume parade and contest.
