The Buffo's Opera Duo To Open Festival In Greece

The Buffo's, a concert act featuring duets and arias of beloved comedic opera roles sung by Stefanos Koroneos (Captain Michael/Berlin Philharmonic, El Gato con Botas/Gotham Chamber Opera conducted by Neil Goren and directed by Moises Kaufman, and La Traviata/Bolshoi Theater directed by Franco Zeffirelli) and Adelmo Guidarelli (star of SONY's PS4 Pro Opera National TV Campaign, Operation Opera/Lincoln Center, La Cenerentola/Opera Las Vegas), will be presented September 5, 2018 in Rhodes Greece at the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes--a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pianist Frixos Mortzos of the Greek National Opera will accompany them.

Attik's mythical Mandra is being set up once again. IN SEARCH OF ATTIK is a musical about the life of the Greek composer, singer and songwriter Kleon Triandafilou, better known to his audience as Attik. Born in 1885 in Egypt, he moved to France in 1907 to study. There he wrote approximately 300 musical pieces for piano, opera and balle. Then in 1930 he came to Greece, where he settled and opened the famous 'Mandra of Attik'. He had been running the place for ten years when it closed and four years later, in 1944, Kleon took his own life by overdosing in sleeping pills.

It tests limits and portraits how far one can go just so they won't have to see and accept who they really are.

Erotokritos is an ode to love. It narrates the love story of two young people who belong in different social groups, Aretousa (Marina Satti), who is the daughter of the king of Athens -Heracles- and Erotokritos (Thodoris Voutsikakis) who is the son of a courtier. Their frobidden love is tested in multiple ways throughout the play but in the end it manages to overcome all hardships.
