Théâtre du Châtelet Names Ruth Mackenzie as Next Artistic Director

The Théatre du Châtelet announced that 59 year old Ruth Mackenzie will be the next artistic director, succeeding Jean-Luc Choplin, who has held the position since 2004.
Mayor Anne Hidalgo tweeted (translated in English):
"Given his experience & its ambitious & innovative artistic project, I propose @ ruthmackenzie for direction @ theatrechatelet."
Ruth is currently head of the Holland Festival and was previously head of the London Olympic festival.
The Châtelet will be closed for two years for refurbishment.
