Long envisioned as a major international cultural institution in the heart of a revived Lower Manhattan, the Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) is the final element and cultural keystone of the 2003 Master Plan developed during Mike Bloomberg’s tenure as mayor for re-building the World Trade Center site after the tragedy on 9/11. PAC NYC will help to redefine Lower Manhattan as a cultural destination and serve as a testament to the power of the arts to inspire and unite us. Currently under construction, we will announce our inaugural season soon and will open to the public in September of this year.

An immersive, genre-defying exploration of justice and forgiveness in the face of race-based rage.

Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

Seeking:

THE ECHO CHAMBER – Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass

Any race or ethnicity. 20s to 40s. Any gender expression.

A group of singers/performers who have familiarity and/or training in ballet, modern/contemporary, jazz, and/or hip-hop. Tap dance and/or body percussion is a plus. Vocally they take on the energy and style of the moment, from gospel choir to media hounds with paparazzi zeal to chanting white supremacists. A diverse, unpredictable group, THE ECHO CHAMBER is the choir in the AME church, the inmates on death row, the media in the scrum, and the racists in the White Supremacist chat rooms. They are the contemporary Greek Chorus for our social media curated lives. Beyond the instrumentation, they control the sonic pulse of the show.
