Breakdown
Black: An ex-con from the South (who believes he has been saved by the Lord)
White: a college professor (intellectual atheist) who is disillusioned and disenchanted by the mondern world.
This two-character play takes place in the Harlem apartment of BLACK. That morning he saves the life of WHITE who attempted suicide on the tracks of a NY subway. BLACK takes WHITE back to his apartment to help him find salvation. BLACK begins in control, but quickly becomes clear that the nonbeliever, WHITE, is much more secure in his convictions that the believer.
