SYNOPSIS:
A painter, Basil Hallward, paints a portrait of his muse, the handsome young man named Dorian Gray. Upon the completion of the portrait, Dorian’s wish that the painting grow old, and not he, is mysteriously granted. Set in the late 1800′s, Oscar Wilde’s tale explores the superficial nature of society, and the value of youth and beauty. Glory Kadigan’s thrilling stage adaptation cuts to the core of Wilde’s work, exposing us to the monster within us all.
SEEKING:
DORIAN GRAY
Male, 22. Handsome, charming, and tantalizingly seductive, Dorian Gray is everyone’s obsession. Naturally likeable, he flirts and has sexual relationships with men and women alike, and due to all of these electrifying qualities, he can get away with almost anything, including murder. In his childhood, he grows up secluded from society in a large mansion, and when his grandfather passes away, he inherits the entire family fortune. After Dorian’s wish to not physically age comes true, he continues to grow older inside while his youthful, good looks remain unchanged. Standard British (RP) accent is required.
Role contains strong sexual and violent content, including the potential for nudity; there will be NO nudity during the casting process.
