Seeking:
Note: All characters except Madame Xenia speak with an English accent.
Alice 'Childie' McNaught:
AVAILABLE ROLE. Late 30s. June's longtime flat mate and lover. Alice seems the submissive of the pair, in need of protection and provides the 'wifely' duties of the household. Deceptively childlike. In truth, well able to look out for her own interests.
Mrs. Mercy-Croft:
AVAILABLE ROLE. 50s. Assistant Head of the BBC. Has a radio show of her own, offering 'sensible' advice. Wields a great deal of power, knows it and enjoys it. Pleasant, elegant exterior, small minded, smug soul.
Madame Xenia:
AVAILABLE ROLE. 50-60s. June and Alice's downstairs neighbor. Practicing clairvoyant of foreign origin. June's confidante and greatest supporter. May have extraordinary manner.
June Buckeridge / Mrs. Mercy Croft Understudy:
AVAILABLE POSITION. See descriptions above and below.
Alice McNaught / Madame Xenia Understudy:
AVAILABLE POSITION. See descriptions above.
June Buckeridge:
CAST (Kathleen Turner). Seeking Understudy only. June is in her 50s. A radio actress on a long-running BBC soap opera, she plays the no-nonsense district nurse, 'Sister George'. In private a somewhat difficult personality, sometimes crude and dominating, at others curiously simple and needy. Her self-image is inextricably mixed with 'Sister George'.
