Breakdown
Seeking Latina actress age range 20s-40s to play seven different characters both male and female ranging from age 6 to 53. Characters include 2 Amish children victims of the shooting, the male gunman and his wife, Hispanic local grocery clerk, male scholar on Amish culture, and a female resident of Nickel Mines. Strong character and dialect skills needed. Pennsylvania Dutch German, Spanish, and American dialects.
In the wake of a mass shooting in an Amish schoolhouse, the Amish community immediately reached out to the shooter’s family with compassion. The Amish Project is an extraordinary, fictional, one-woman play inspired by the 2006 Nickel Mines shooting. In the tightrope intersection of grief, rage, forgiveness, which path do you take?
