Seeking:

MALE R&B SINGER Who Moves Well:
[Character is Male, AFRICAN AMERICAN] An all-register male vocalist: Baritone, High Tenor, and Believable Female "Girl Group" Trick Voice; Major R&B vocal chops required; Must be familiar with or have a feel for 1970’s R&B/SOUL/FUNK MUSIC. Should be able to easily belt out a High C with strength, and have a well-controlled falsetto up to G above that (will be used on some otherwise-female vocal arrangements as well as male falsetto). When lower in range, voice can have some character and "gravel". If you can sing Curtis Mayfield AND Barry White AND James Brown AND Wilson Pickett, all in the record keys, as well as anchor a Seventies funk female trio, you are a great candidate for this role. Must be able to handle some bit of movement and/or improvise and communicate through an original movement sequence.

ARTURO/RALPHIE Male Singer Who Moves Well:
Characters are Male, Caucasian; Age may be 30’s – 40’s; A Mafia Boss/ Gangster; May be a ‘Tony Soprano’ type – a Large Italian Guy with the strength of the Mob behind him. Ideally, but not necessarily, a darker skinned “Sicilian” type; Actor could also be less character, even younger and more handsome, as long as he can pull off a PHYSICAL PRESENCE WITH A SENSE OF MENACE AND STRENGTH; At home with colloquialisms such as, “This friggin’ kid has a smart mouth’. Vocally, a heartbreakingly pure Italian Operatic Tenor Voice would be ideal; An Operatic Baritone is also possible; ACTOR MUST BE ABLE TO SING AND MOVE WELL; MUST BE ABLE TO TAP DANCE, SOFT SHOE; HANDLE ATHLETIC PHYSICAL WORK AND FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY; Ideally actor will be also familiar with or have a feel for 1970’s R&B/SOUL/FUNK MUSIC.

FEMALE SINGERS Who Dance:
[Characters are AFRICAN-AMERICAN, MIXED RACE, LATINO, or ASIAN] [soprano / mix] Major R&B vocal chops required. Sings in a number of "Girl Group"-style background vocals, sometimes with great power and edge, sometimes just floating up to kiss a high note. Equally strong Belt Register and Low Notes are both desirable, but the main focus is the High stuff. True belt to D, mix with strength to G above that. May possibly understudy female lead role. Must be able to dance well enough to arrive on a spot with precision – even a good club dancer with precision can work here; We are interested in all physical types – including Large “Earth Mother” Types who can handle Choreography rooted in Post Modern/Modern Dance and in the gestural Language of Bill T. Jones; and have the ability to improvise and communicate through an original movement sequence.
