Beginning in the 2021-22 Season, AE is moving toward five-day rehearsal weeks and will phase out 10-out-of-12 tech rehearsals.

Rehearsals and performances held indoors at Actor's Express. We are working with an Equity-approved safety plan that includes vaccination, testing, masking, cleaning and distancing protocols. BREAKDOWN

Seeking:

Nina – Black woman. Late 20's. She has her own revolution brewing inside her. She has seen a lot of life in a short amount of time. She is a realist. Her emotional walls are high with little chance of being broken down. This character uses explicit language and engages in onstage intimacy, which will be crafted under the supervision of an Intimacy Director.

Kenyatta – Black man. 50s. Nina's estranged father. A man who has made his mark on history, a former political prisoner and Black Revolutionary. He is trying to make amends, but he ain't no sucka. This character uses explicit language.

Damon – Black or Latino man. 30s. There is a rhythm about him, a pride. He is street smart, a drug dealer, and a robber, but also an intellect, analyze the inner psyche of some of the most prolific writers and speakers, type of intellect. He is also soft. This character uses explicit language and engages in onstage intimacy, which will be crafted under the supervision of an Intimacy Director.
