Equity singing actors, 10 men and 9 women, for the Concert Version Productions of
MAN OF LA MANCHA
and
CAROUSEL
Preparation
Bring 2 headshots & resumes. Please prepare 16 bars of a classic musical theatre up-tempo selection and 16 bars of a classic musical theatre ballad, in a similar style to the shows. Please bring sheet music ready and marked for accompanist

MAN OF LA MANCHA (concert version)

Rehearsals: July 1-9, 2013
Performances: July 10-21, 2013 (with possible 2 week extension)
Seeking: 6 men, 3 women for concert presentation
Cervantes/Quixote: Late 40s, Strong Powerful Baritone, Man of unfathomable passions, intellect, and magnetism. Must be an equally strong actor as a singer.
Manservant/Sancho: mid to late 40s. Tenor, great comic actor capable of sincere emotion and devotion.
Captain/Pedro/Housekeeper: 30s. High Baritone, strong falsetto. Powerful man, with mean violent streak. Must have comic character skills to handle doubling of female Housekeeper.
Governor/Innkeeper: mid to late 50s. Bass/Baritone. True leader. Great comic touch.
Duke/Padre: mid to late 50s: Tenor: Comic genius. Wonderful sense of irony and sardonic wit.
Maria/Barber/Moor: late 20s early 30s: Alto/strong belt: sensual, grounded, strong presence. Strong character skills to handle male Barber.
Aldonza: 30s: Alto/strong belt: deeply imbedded sense of anger and worldliness. Exceptional emotional depth.
Antonia: early 20s: Soprano: True ingenue. Shallow and self-serving but capable of sincere remorse.
Paco/Dr. Carrasco/Knight of Mirrors: Late 20s-early 30s: High baritone. Imposing presence. Capable of Muleteer as well as higher class doctor

Julie Jordan - Late Teens-Early 20s, Soprano, attractive but plain, dreamer, desperately in search of better life and of connection of others.
Carrie Pipperidge - Late Teens-Early 20s, Soprano/Coloratura, attractive and spunky, loyal friend to Julie but very aware of improving her social status.
Enoch Snow - Late 20s, Tenor, highly ambitious and assertive personality, somewhat pretentious.
Nettie Fowler - Early 40s, Lyric Soprano, Julie's Aunt/confidante, attractive, eternal optimist with strong will & disposition.
Mrs. Mullen - Early-Mid 40s, Alto (With Strong Belt), A Once Upon A Time beauty with a few too many late nights under her belt, domineering/manipulative.
Jigger - Early-Mid 40s, Bass/Baritone, coarse, rough boatman, a violent streak that he masks with a forced joviality.
Mr. Bascombe - Late 40s-Early 50s, Bass Baritone, wealthy mill owner, very upper crust New England.
Starkeeper/Dr. Seldon - Late 50s-Late 60s, Baritone, everyone's best friend, a commanding presence.
Louise Bigelowe - 16/17, Soprano, very strong will, self-determined young lady, ability to dance a big +.
