An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

BREAKDOWN

Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

Holding/Audition room information:

The audition room can accommodate no more than 120 individuals at a time.

The holding room can accommodate no more than 500 individuals at a time.

Seeking:

Dr. Julio Ferrero, Male: 40-ish. Mexican but, educated in Europe, has a mid-Atlantic accent. Dr. Ferrero is charismatic, charming, and definitely in touch with his spiritual side.

Angela Lang, Female: Mid-twenties. A graduate student. (Not Caucasian). The true voice of reason, Angela is realist and A-Type personality. She is the smartest person in the room, no doubt about it.

Roles Cast:

Denny Newhart, Male: Fifties, energetic and optimistic. He truly embraces his newly found retirement and wants to find the real meaning of escape. Denny is married to Claire and adores his wife, but his idea of retirement isn’t quite living up to her expectations. CAST

Claire Newhart, Female: Fifties, active and imaginative. She is, quite possibly, in the middle of an existential crisis. Claire’s view of paradise doesn’t include lack of communication with the known world and she’s not 100% sure retirement was the right answer for her. CAST
