A missing spy. A mysterious woman. A man on the run. When an ordinary man stops to help a stranger, he’s catapulted into a high-speed chase across the Scottish countryside — with only his wits (and a trench coat) to survive. This fast-paced farce features over 150 characters played by just four actors in a whirlwind of costume changes, clever staging, and nonstop laughs. A comic thriller at its best, The 39 Steps is a wildly inventive tale of mistaken identity, espionage, and split-second decisions that change everything.

Director’s Note (from Telly Leung): RENT is a show that has earned a significant place in the canon of musical theatre and gave some young performers in the 1990s star-making opportunities due to their iconic, individual performances. RENT only works when each actor that assumes these roles approaches it with the same individuality — and that means divorcing yourself from those iconic performances that have come before you and trusting that YOU already possess everything you need to embody these characters and make them your own.
Ethnicity note: The cast of RENT should reflect the diversity of New York City. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition for all roles.
