Lunch from 1 - 2. New York, NY (studio B)
Please prepare a brief minute monologue in verse under 2 minutes. Dramatic preferred but comic is acceptable. A piece in rhyming couplets a plus but not required.
Bring picture and resume, stapled together.
Callbacks are planned for 10/27 mid-day.
Seeking:
Don Rodrigo (The Cid)
Must be able to play early to mid 20s. Must be 6' to 6' 2” in height. (could be taller). Should be able to transform from a young studious man into a great warrior. Must have great skills with Classical language
Don Diego (Don Rodrigo's father)
60 to 70. Should be around 6'. Once a great warrior, now older and frail, Now tutor to the young prince.
Must have great skills with Classical language
The Count (Don Rodrigo's Father in Law to be)
45 to 60 (can be a younger actor who looks older) Must be very Virile and powerful. Must be over 6 ft (the taller the better). He is the greatest warrior in Spain as play opens - He humiliates Don Diego and is challenged to combat by Don Rodrigo, who surprisingly defeats and kills him.
Don Arias and Don Alonse
Noblemen in service to the king - 30 - 60 (can be younger who can look older)
Note: The female characters have been cast, but time-permitted, we're happy to see ladies who have a similar piece who would like to be seen.
