ABOUT:
In a Government Building , in a terrifying near future, HERESY takes on the American Dream. Shall we have another cocktail or release the man who we will kill or follow to a new beginning?
NOTE: Seeking actors of all ethnicities with strong comic chops
Update 6/27: The role of Phyllis has now been CAST and the role of Lena is now available.
MARY
(Female late 40s- late 50s): Tough, wise, says it like it is- the maternal instinct aroused to a passion to save her son. Mary's a true blue liberal - salt of the earth type. She's the one in the front of the march.
JOE
(Male late 40s – late 50s): Blue collar. Gentle, a carpenter by trade, slightly in the shadow of his willful wife- but a strong steady comic presence.
LENA
(Female 20s) earthy ex-sex worker, super confident, intelligent, a real believer. Must have real verbal acuity/ delivery
The following roles have been CAST. Actors auditioning may be considered for possible replacements should they become available.
PILATE
This role has now been CAST. (Male late 40s – late 50s): A military man. The "Decider". Very concerned about his image. May not seem like the brightest guy in the room- but be careful he's no fool.
MARK
CAST. (Male 20s) An orderly in the National Guard – eager and ambitious
PEDRO
CAST. (male early 20s) A college student – eager, protective, intelligent
PHYLLIS
CAST. (Female late 40s- late 50s): - the wife of Pontius, she's the chief comic figure of the play- a descendant of Sheridan's Mrs. Malaprop, Phyllis is there for the fun and society of an old friend coming to visit. Must have a way with a phrase.
