Please prepare a one minute monologue and 16-18 bars of a song. Bring sheet music in correct key, accompanist provided but may not transpose. Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

CAPTAIN LARNYCE GAINES

(African American Female 40-50) Stately, refined, dynamic, strong presence. She is a mentor and is admired, women who would love to be like her. Can be intimidating at times.

Vocal type: Alto 1 - Soprano; dynamic, soulful delivery

(African American Female 25-30) Android, diverse acting range, stoic like Spock from Star Trek, but she can align herself to any human personality

(African American Female 30 – 35) Spirited young officer, stylish and full of life, eager to do, attractive and seductive

GREGORY

(African American Male 20 to 25, 5’8 – 5’11) Bright, caring young man, passionate about his community and his girlfriend, “Village- hip” kind of guy who has not fallen for the misogynistic lyrics of popular music; strong, good-looking

Vocal type: Tenor; must be able to deliver a strong ballad

LAVERNE

(African American Female late 20’s – early 30’s) Tall, long- legged, provocative- dressing “alpha” female, thinks she runs the show, looks good and knows it, is well spoken and educated but uses her looks to maneuver through life

Vocal type: Alto 1-2; able to sing pop and a strong ballad

Dance: Hip Hop, Latin, Blues Jazz
