Equity Adult Principal and Ensemble Dancers and Singers.

Preparation
Be prepared to start with our dance combination first, so plan on coming at either 3 pm or 6 pm. Please wear dance attire to your audition and bring 2 resume/headshots. Depending on the results of the dance call, we may have you stay and sing a brief song in the style of the show. **

Other Dates
1st Reh 5/28. Runs the weekends of 6/13-6/23.

**those wishing to audition for only the non-dancing roles of Mama Morton, Amos, and/or Little Mary Sunshine, prepare 16-32 bars ideally from the show and audition on 3/23 from 9 a.m. to Noon

CHICAGO is opening the 45th Anniversary Summer Season. Our other two summer shows will be announced April 19th with audition dates to follow.

· A monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

Appointments
There are no appointments necessary. Attendance at the beginning of either session one or two is mandatory. Sign-ups available upon arrival.

Performers of all ethnic and racial background are encouraged to attend.

Breakdown

Seeking:

Roxie Hart (Lead - Mezzo with Belt/Strong Dancer) Female, plays 20's-50's. Quick-witted, chorus girl, whose sexy in
nocence belies her willingness to do anything to have her name in lights - including murder. Excellent dancer, with strong sense of self.

Velma Kelly (Lead - Mezzo with Belt/Strong Dancer) 20's-50's. Exotic vampy, well-known performer who's used sex appeal and keen, manipulative skills to keep her in public news. An imprisoned murderess who sees Roxie's growing fame to be a threat. Excellent dancer with strong sense of style.

Billy Flynn (Lead - Baritone/Strong Mover) Male, plays 30's-50's. Dashing, good looks and charm. A smart, wheeler-dealing lawyer good at manipulating truths with a likable demeanor. Strong mover.

Matron 'Mama' Morton (Alto with Belt) Female, plays 30's-50's. Matronly with an edge. Runs the Cook County Jail with slippery loyalties to female inmates. A fan of the girls' fame. Character actress with comic ability and tough power. Great belt a must.


Amos Hart (Baritone) Male, plays 30's-50's. Roxie's gullible husband. Vulnerable, social misfit, blind to Roxie's true colors by his needy love for her. Must have an affable likability and sincerity.

Mary Sunshine (Counter Tenor - Falsetto [Sopr. Range] High Bb) Male to play female. A talk-show hostess, gossip monger who feigns a good-natured exterior to grab the scoop for her gossip column.

Ensemble
The roles of Fred Casely, Sergeant Fogarty, Go-To-Hell-Kitty and the "Cell Block Tango" ladies will be cast from the ensemble of strong dancer-singers Ensemble
