The Denver Concert Band presents “Yo Ho It’s a Band’s Life for Me” on Sunday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons St., Lone Tree, CO 80124. From the sweeping drama of Victory at Sea to the patriotic spirit of Anchors Aweigh and the swashbuckling excitement of Pirates of the Caribbean, this program brims with history, heroism, and high-seas adventure. Tickets are $20 - $25 / $7 Child 5 and under. Tickets at www.denverconcertband.org or by calling 720-509-1000.

Audience members are encouraged to dress like pirates! 

The program also includes Karl King’s The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, Williams’ Sea Songs, and Meij’s Aquarium.

The Denver Concert Band is comprised of 90 musicians who love instrumental music. These musicians are volunteers who rehearse and perform year-round throughout Colorado. The Band regularly performs for thousands of Coloradoans every year. In additional to the formal and summer concerts around the Denver Area, they regularly perform statewide and have also performed in Switzerland, the British Isles, France, and Germany. 

Jacinda M. Bouton has been the Music Director of Denver Concert Band since 1997 and is the Principal Conductor and of the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra. She served as guest conductor of the Denver Municipal Band, and is an active conductor, clinician and adjudicator throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Jacinda feels fortunate to have conducted these ensembles in over thirty guest artist concerts with members of the Colorado Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and many other nationally and internationally renowned soloists.

Heros and Holidays: November 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm

The Denver Concert Band presents a celebration of Heroes and Holidays, beginning with bold fanfares, dramatic soundscapes, and stirring rhythms honoring legendary and fictional heroes alike. The second half rings in the season with jazzy sleigh rides, humorous tales, and playful twists on holiday favorites. Keep an eye out—our final piece may just summon a certain red-suited hero who sleighs the season every year!

Guest Artist Concert: February 15, 2026 at 2:00 pm

Experience the full brilliance of the clarinet as the Denver Concert Band proudly welcomes Jason Shafer, Principal Clarinet of the Colorado Symphony, to the stage for Carl Maria von Weber’s Concerto No. 2. Known for his stunning artistry and captivating stage presence, Mr. Shafer has performed with some of the world’s finest ensembles. From Weber’s soaring lyricism to dazzling technical fireworks, this performance will be a true showcase of the clarinet’s expressive power. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear one of today’s top clarinetists in an unforgettable collaboration with the Denver Concert Band.

Young Artist Concert: April 26, 2026 at 2:00 pm

Since 1977, the Denver Concert Band’s Young Artist Award has spotlighted extraordinary high school seniors, encouraging them to pursue their passion for music through both performance and scholarship support. The competition draws gifted students whose artistry and skill rival that of seasoned professionals. Many past winners have gone on to enjoy distinguished careers in music. This year’s winner will take the stage with the Denver Concert Band, performing a solo work that will leave you inspired. Come experience one of Colorado’s finest young musicians — and witness the moment a rising star steps into the spotlight.
