BWW Reviews: Theatreworks Examines Decay and Disillusionment in DETROIT

The audience sits on either side of a shared backyard flanked by two houses. At first glance structurally identical, closer examination revels distinct differences. One house has a clean patio set, new curtains, and a well-tended window box of flowers. The other shows obvious signs of neglect: peeling paint, dead grass, a rusty charcoal grill tucked away in a corner.

Vintage Theatre Productions has tackled one of the more difficult musicals of the last 30 years. Miss Saigon is a show filled with challenges for even the biggest, most equipped theatres. But the smaller-scale production that Vintage performs is a beast in other ways.

DCPA Unveils Finalists for Regional High School Playwriting Competition

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) has announced the three finalists of the second annual Regional High School Playwriting Workshop and Competition for Colorado high school students. Finalists Kaytlin Camp (Gunnison High School), Jack Hansen (Arapahoe High School) and Catherine Novotny (Grandview High School)will receive a staged reading at the 2015 Colorado New Play Summit. Finalists also receive a $250 cash scholarship and complimentary pass to any reading or production at the Summit.
