Thirteen years ago, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) launched a first-of-its-kind initiative - an endowment fund to support the work of women in theatre. In the same year, the DCPA created its Women with Hattitude luncheon, the proceeds of which go directly into the endowment fund. Now on Thursday, May 3, more than 600 guests will gather from 11am to 1:30pm at the luncheon for one purpose - to give voice to women playwrights whose work only accounts for 20% of plays produced across America today.

Continuing the 120-year-old tradition of bringing music, oration and the arts to the Boulder community, the Colorado Chautauqua Association, steward of Boulder's cultural and historical gem the Colorado Chautauqua National Historic Landmark, is pleased to announce its 2018 Summer Concert Series. From Amos Lee and Andrew Bird, to Graham Nash, Ziggy Marley and Mary Chapin Carpenter, this year's lineup presents a diverse mix of performers across genres that appeal to every music fan. Laughter also returns to the stage with comedian Paula Poundstone and Boulder's own poet and activist Andrea Gibson.
THE BOOK OF MORMON Extends at Denver Center for the Performing Arts

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts announces today the addition of more seats for THE BOOK OF MORMON at The Ellie. Due to popular demand, performances for the fourth Denver engagement of THE BOOK OF MORMON will begin June 13 and now run an additional week through July 7, 2018. A celebration of books, reading and writing for the whole family, the first annual Arvada Center Book Fest takes place at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities on May 19 from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Designed as an event for all ages, the Book Fest includes hands-on activities and storytime for kids, panel discussions and staged readings, an all-day exhibit hall, writing workshops, and a special keynote speaker. The Arvada Center is located at 6901 Wadsworth Blvd. and provides free parking at the venue. The presenting sponsor of the Arvada Center Book Fest is Regis University's MFA in Creative Writing program.

Melvin Brewing Presents Ghostface Killah, GZA, Killah Priest and More

Talk of Melvin began on the West Coast, but the heart of Melvin started beating in the small mountain town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and has since spread nationwide.  Jeremy Tofte founded Melvin Brewing in 2000.  He was working as a waiter at a Thai restaurant called "Thai Me Up" and just like a lot of  new restaurants, it went under.  He talked the landlord into giving him the keys to the space.  After Selling his 1984 Mercedes wagon to pay for a 20 gallon brewing system and a little polishing up, he re-opened and immediately started ruining people's vacations by playing loud hip hop (mostly Wu-Tang Clan) and Kung Fu movies alongside beers from the future, which became the birth of Melvin Brewing Company.
