About this studio
Now operating as New Moon Movement Arts, this Seattle studio at 7601 Greenwood Ave N specializes in aerial acrobatics and circus arts rather than conventional studio dance. It runs more than 65 weekly classes covering aerial fabric (silks), rope, trapeze including duo trapeze, straps, lyra (hoop), sling (hammock), flying pole, handstands, contortion, bungee fitness, flexibility and conditioning. Beginners start with ABC classes open to anyone aged 18 and over, whether trying aerial for the first time or picking up a new apparatus, and a separate youth program serves students aged 11 to 17. Classes are organized into short registration sessions with drop-in options, alongside guest-artist workshops and intensives, teacher training and regular Works In Progress performance nights. The studio offers scholarships and gift certificates.
