About this studio
Brasil In Motion, formerly Bahia in Motion, is a Brazilian arts organization based at Balance Studio, 418 N 35th St in Seattle, trading as Bahia In Motion LLC. It offers Brazilian dance and capoeira classes and events for adults and youth, plus Zumba, a Benin to Brasil program, and yearly cultural immersion tours to Bahia, Brazil. Programming centers on Afro-Brazilian cultural heritage and on a balance of body, mind and spirit, with an emphasis on inclusive, cross-cultural community building. Co-directors Daniel Nery dos Santos and Aileen Panke lead the organization, which has collaborated with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Seattle Theatre Group, Spectrum Dance Theater, the Seattle Symphony, the University of Washington and Cornish College of the Arts.
