About this studio
The Creative Dance Center is a non-profit dance school in the Bitter Lake neighborhood of Seattle, offering classes for all ages and abilities from babies and pre-schoolers through elementary, middle and high school students and adults. All teaching follows Brain-Compatible Dance Education, the methodology developed by founder Anne Green Gilbert, which is built around a five-part lesson plan, the BrainDance body-brain warm-up, and the dance concepts of space, time, force and body. The center emphasises creativity, collaboration and mind-body connection, encouraging students to work through exploration, improvisation, reflection and choreography rather than by imitation alone.
