Utica Dance, Inc

Utica Dance, Inc is a non-profit dance school and presenting organization in Utica, New York, formerly the Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute Dance Program, with a tradition of over 52 years of dance instruction. Ballet is the foundation of the school, with jazz, tap and contemporary dance offered and supplemental classes in hip hop and yoga. Programs are divided into a Children's Division building coordination, strength, listening and musical and spatial awareness through ballet, tap and jazz, with recreational hip hop; a Pre-Professional Division for roughly ages 8-18 covering classical and contemporary technique; and a Teen/Adult Division offering introductory to intermediate ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary plus workshops. Students perform in the annual Nutcracker and Spring Concerts at Mohawk Valley Community College, and the organization runs workshops and master classes with guest artists that are open to non-students. Weekly classes are now hosted at Dancenter of Utica on Genesee Street. A trial class to establish level costs $20.
