About this studio
The Next Generation Swing Dance Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Oakland, California, dedicated to promoting West Coast Swing and other social dancing and to fostering a welcoming environment for new dancers. Its club dance runs on the first Saturday of each month at the Allegro Ballroom in Richmond, with a 7pm all-levels West Coast Swing lesson, a parallel beginner lesson, social dancing from 8pm to midnight and a Luck of the Draw progressive contest. The club also sponsors Boogie by the Bay, an annual West Coast Swing convention held each October since 1993, with four nights of social dancing, WSDC Jack and Jill competitions and Pro-Am, Rising Star, Showcase and Classic routine contests.
