The Get Down is a street and social dance studio at 198 Jackson Street in San Jose, California, marking its tenth anniversary in 2026. It teaches hip hop, funk styles, waacking, house, breaking, salsa and bachata, and even runs DJing classes, and its motto is dance as a tool to build relationships. Alongside adult drop-in and enrolled classes it operates a Youth Program, private lessons including wedding dance preparation, birthday parties and studio rentals. The studio is active in the wider social dance scene, hosting a monthly Salsa Night with a beginner lesson followed by social dancing at a partner venue in downtown San Jose, where no partner is needed. Students perform at an annual Spring Showcase, held for the tenth time in May 2026. The Metro named The Get Down Best Dance Lessons in its Best of Silicon Valley 2025 awards.
