Cashion Cultural Legacy

Cashion Cultural Legacy (CCL) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization in San Jose, California that preserves and advances Mexican folklorico dance and cultural traditions through performance, education and community engagement. Its flagship company, Los Lupenos de San Jose, was founded in 1969 and is one of the longest-running Mexican folk dance companies in the United States, presenting research-based work drawn from Mexico's regional traditions. Los Lupenos Juvenil, established in 2015, is a performing youth ensemble for dancers aged 10 to 15 that prepares members to move into the adult company. Public folklorico classes are taught through Los Lupenos Academy for all ages, from toddlers to older adults, at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels, with financial aid available; instructors link steps to music, customs, language and history. CCL also produces the annual FOLKLOREADA festival and artist exchanges. Classes are held at the School of Arts & Culture at Mexican Heritage Plaza, 1700 Alum Rock Avenue.
