About this studio
Spoke the Hub Dancing, Inc. is a non-profit dance and community arts center at 748 Union Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, describing itself as the neighborhood's leading independent dance and arts center for over 40 years. Beyond teaching it programs performances, art exhibits and events such as the Wheelhouse Theatre series and Director's Choice, and rents its studios for rehearsals and parties. Classes are run by independent teaching artists who set their own rates: ballet and hip hop for ages 1.5 to 8, modern and ballet for young artists, Indian dance, ballroom, Latin and swing with wedding choreography, and CardioDance, alongside yoga, t'ai chi and karate. It is sustained by memberships, donations and volunteers.
