Dance classes in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The Philadelphia Argentine Tango School (PATS), at 2030 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia, has since 2008 promoted Argentine tango as a form of dance, music and poetry, noting that because tango is based on walking it is accessible to people of all ages. Run by Meredith Klein, it offers group and private classes in person and online, workshops on special topics, practicas and milongas, guest residencies by internationally known teachers, live tango music from soloists to full orchestras, performances, lectures on tango history and first-dance preparation. PATS organizes the Philly Tango Festival and the Fishtown Salon Concert Series, and runs supporting workshops in classical ballet, Hatha yoga, Alexander Technique and biotensegrity, plus a Buenos Aires immersion tour.
