Miss Kelley's School of Dance was established in 1983 and has served Trussville and Oneonta, Alabama for over 40 years from two studios. It offers more than 150 class choices across morning, afternoon and evening slots, all of which are live-streamed for parents. Subjects include preschool ballet/jazz/tap combo classes from age 2.5, ballet and pointe (ballet-only classes begin at age 6, progressing through a pre-pointe class), jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, musical theatre, baton twirling and colorguard, plus a danceline prep class for students trying out for middle school, high school and college dance teams. A Mommy & Me class for ages 18 months to 3, which won a 2022 Birmingham Parent Favorite award, runs during the six-week summer course alongside Princess Camp and conditioning classes in core strength, flexibility, leaps and turns. The school fields several jazz and hip hop competition teams that attend conventions and competitions, and stages its annual recital at the Wright Center at Samford University. First-time families are offered a free trial lesson.
