About this studio
Statesboro School of Dance (SSOD) is a dance school at 306 S. Zetterower Avenue in Statesboro, Georgia, led by artistic director and Statesboro native Shay Thompson Morgan with a staff of teaching dancers. It offers classical ballet, tap, modern jazz and hip hop for all ages and levels and describes itself as a leader in classical dance education in southeast Georgia. Classes are grouped by color-coded levels running from Pink (ages 2 1/2 through Pre-K) and White (kindergarten and first grade) up through Royal Blue, Purple, Green and Black & Burgundy for eighth through twelfth grades. The school presents three performances each season: The Nutcracker every December, the Faith in Motion praise and worship show in late winter, and a spring recital on the first Saturday in June.
