Canopy Studio

Canopy Studio is a 501(c)(3) non-profit aerial dance and circus arts center on Tracy Street in Athens, Georgia, dedicated to enriching the community through flying dance trapeze, movement education and performance. It teaches adults and children of all body types and abilities in trapeze, fabrics/silks, lyra, rope, slings, bungee, acrobatics, pole, heels and flying pole, plus yoga, stretch and conditioning. Classes run in 8-to-10-week sessions with beginners starting at intro level; private lessons, workshops and camps are also offered. Canopy's Repertory Company performs twice a year and student showcases and open mic nights run throughout the season. The studio runs community outreach with schools and resource centers and offers scholarships, and it is a member of the Circus Arts Safety Network, reviewed annually against American Circus Educators standards. Registration is through Mindbody. In 2026 it received a Georgia Council for the Arts operating grant and launched a capital campaign for a new building.
