Massari Wood Dance Center

Massari-Wood Dance Center is entering its 52nd year in Chattanooga, teaching all levels of ballet, tap, contemporary and jazz from three studio spaces at the rear of the East Brainerd/Graysville Road Family Shopping Center at 1070 Graysville Road. The curriculum runs from Music & Movement and pre-ballet for the youngest children through a Primary Division, elementary ballet and intermediate/continuing ballet, with separate tap and jazz/contemporary tracks, an adult division, yoga and private instruction. The center is home to the Civic Ballet of Chattanooga and mounts full productions including The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Alice, with rehearsals, costumes and props a constant presence in the building. Newer dancers give in-studio sharing programs in costume for family audiences. The school states that its aim is not only to produce accomplished dancers but to give students a lifelong love of dance and the performing arts.
