About this studio
Children's Ballet Theater is a dance and theater school at 5330 Park Ave in East Memphis, Tennessee, drawing students from East Memphis, Germantown, Midtown and Collierville. It teaches classical ballet in the French and Russian traditions based on the Vaganova method, and takes students from age 2.5 through 18 as well as college students and adults. Alongside ballet, pre-ballet and creative movement, the school offers pointe, partnering, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary and lyrical, plus musical theater workshops that include group vocal training and acting. Performance opportunities include a spring recital and an annual production of Clara and the Nutcracker. During the summer the school runs ballet and dance intensives and ballet, dance and musical theater camps. It also hosts children's parties, publishes a dress code and studio policies, and registers students by semester.
